SMN recognizes top fall athletes

Cross Country
1st Team:
John Dodson, Senior

Dodson had five top-5 finishes and won four races ― the 7th Mile Farm Invitational, the Blue Tide Run, the Frazier-Hite Invitational and the Stinger Cross Country Invitational, where he ran a personal best 5K time of 16:05.90. He was 14th in the Class 4A state finals with a time of 16:58.15. 
Asher Herrin, Junior
Herrin had three top-10 finishes on the season, including a fourth-place run at the Stinger Invitational, where he ran a personal best time of 17:15.70. He was 77th in the Class 4A state meet in 18:14.38.
Cole Minnich, Sophomore
Minnich had a breakthrough season for the Cadets with seven top-3 finishes in eight races. He won the Class 4A-Sectional 1 race with a personal best time of 15:56.67 and was 20th in the Class 4A state meet with a time of 17:07.25.

Football:
First Team Offense:
Chris "Bubba" Frazier, Junior Athlete
Frazier was named the Region 1-4A Co-Athlete of the Year after a stellar campaign with the Cadets. He had 43 receptions for 709 yards and four scores and ran for 554 yards and eight touchdowns and added an interception on defense. Frazier has a number of offers including Georgia and Arkansas. 
Jacobe Ward, Senior Offensive Line
The 6-foot-4, 335-pound tackle anchored the line for the Cadets over the past three seasons. He was named the Region 1-4A Offensive Lineman of the Year and was a first-team All-State pick by the AJC. Ward has signed to play at Auburn. 
Connor Ferguson, Senior Kicker/Punter
The senior was named the Region 1-4A Special Teams Player of the Year and was a first-team All-State selection by the AJC. He connected on 15 of 18 field goals with a long of 52 yards, which set a school record. He connected on 45 of 46 extra points and had touchbacks on 82% of his kickoffs, while averaging 38.8 yards per punt, with only seven of 47 punts returned. He had 17 punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line. He has offers including Appalachian State and Western Kentucky.
First Team Defense:
Kam Cody, Junior, Defensive Line
Cody continued his remarkable comeback from a heart incident that nearly cost him his life in 2022 with his best season yet. He had 75 tackles, with nine for losses, and 6.5 sacks with seven quarterback hurries. The 6-foot-3, 285-pounder has offers including Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Miami, UCLA, USC and North Carolina. He was an All-State Class 4A first-team selection by the AJC.
Herbert "Third" Scroggins, Senior Defensive End, Linebacker
Scroggins had a senior campaign to remember for the Cadets, who reached the Class 4A state quarterfinals. He was named the Region 1-4A Defensive Player of the Year and was a Class 4A All-State first-team selection by the AJC. The University of Miami signee had 86 tackles, including 17 for losses, and racked up 21 sacks, the most in Georgia across all classifications and 33rd in the nation 
Micah Williams, Junior Defensive Back
Williams had a big-time season for the Cadets as he recorded 74 tackles, with five passes defended and four interceptions. He also had five catches for 100 yards and a pair of scores and earned All-Region 1-4A first-team honors as a defensive back. He has offers from North Carolina and Georgia Tech.

Defense: Larson Little, Junior Linebacker, Wyatt Estabrook, Junior Defensive back, Isiah Jones, Sophomore Linebacker
Honorable Mention: Colby Brennan (Senior), Omari Burse (Sophomore), John Lilly (Senior), Zach Maxwell (Senior), Lawrence Rivers (Senior), Raphael Scroggins (Senior), JoJo Sutton (Junior).
