BC is 5-4 on the year with losses coming against Rabun Gap (8-2), Buford (9-1), Ware County (5-5) and defending state champion Perry (7-3). The Cadets showed their ability to play tough on the road in a 29-28 loss at Buford in Week 2.
Sophomore Omari Burse stepped into the starting quarterback role when junior Stephen Cannon was hurt in a loss to Ware County on Oct. 11. He has been solid — throwing for 779 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 59% of his throws.
Stanley Smart Jr. leads the squad with 613 yards rushing and has come on strong by averaging 86 yards per game over his last six games.
Bubba Frazier is one of the top offensive weapons in the state as the junior has 40 catches for 640 yards and three scores, while rushing for 378 yards and four scores. Joshua Washington has 33 catches for 528 yards and five scores and Jack Ganem has 19 grabs for 319 yards and a pair of scores. The Cadet defense has some blue-chip talent led by senior edge Third Scroggins, the Miami commit who has 17 sacks on the season to go along with 64 tackles, with 12 for losses. Junior defensive tackle Kam Cody has 58 stops, with eight for losses and 6.5 sacks. Sophomore Isaiah Jones leads the team with 68 tackles, with three sacks. The Cadets have 10 interceptions on the year, led by junior Wyatt Estabrook with three. Junior defensive back Micah Williams, who as offers including Georgia Tech and North Carolina, has a pair of picks and 55 tackles. The kicking game has been superb with Connor Ferguson. He was selected by Kohl's Kicking Camps as the National Player of the Week for week 11. Go Cadets!!
