Ferguson, Scroggins, Ward chosen to Georgia Power 100 Preseason Football Team
Connor Ferguson is the No. 7 place-kicker nationally, per Kohl’s Kicking. That’s the highest among Georgia kickers. He was 68-of-69 on extra points and 8-of-19 on field goals with a long of 46 last season. He put 48 of 83 kickoffs in the end zone. Ferguson has an offer from Arkansas State.
Herbert Scroggins III (6-3, 233) is a consensus top-400 national prospect. Scroggins had 11 sacks and 10 other tackles for losses last season on a 13-1 Class 4A team. Viewed as an edge rusher at the next level, he committed to Miami in June.
Jacobe Ward (6-4, 335) was first-team AJC, GACA and Recruit Georgia all-state as the right tackle for a 13-1 Class 4A team last season. Benedictine is 39-5 in his three seasons as a starter. He is a three-star recruit and Benedictine’s best OL prospect this century. He committed to Auburn in July
