A week after taking down Southwest DeKalb on the road, BC made the trip to the Atlanta area again and came from behind to run away with a win in McDonough against an upstart Ola squad.
BC improved to 7-4 on the season as the Cadets handed Ola (11-1), which won the first playoff game in school history, its first loss of the season.
BC fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter but scored 34 unanswered points to walk away with the win.
Stanley Smart Jr. scored first for the Cadets at the start of the second quarter with an 8-yard touchdown run. In the second half, junior Bubba Frazier had a 4-yard touchdown run and then reeled in a 67-yard scoring pass from quarterback Omari Burse less than a minute later as BC went up 21-14 midway through the third quarter.
Burse scored on a quarterback sneak late in the third quarter and Connor Ferguson converted on field goals of 34 and 32 yards in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.
Danny Britt said his team was proud to continue its tradition of practicing on Thanksgiving Day. Since 2013, BC has reached at least the state quarterfinals in 11-of-12 seasons and won four state titles along the way. He said
Britt said the Cadets' rugged schedule, which included non-region losses in its first two games against Rabun Gap and Buford followed by competing in one of the toughest regions in the state, is paying off when it matters most. "We've played some really tough teams and dealt with some adversity this year," Britt said. "But we've stayed together and we're getting better."
