High School Placement Test
The HSPT allows our Guidance Department additional insights into the students' academic abilities to ensure proper placement into Freshman classes. Test scores play a major role in course placement Freshman year.
The HSPT is composed of subtests in areas of Verbal Skills, Quantitative Skills, Reading, Math, and Language, taking around three hours. BC does administer the Science section of the HSPT test which allots an extra 25 minutes of testing time. The results of the Science section are not included in the total composite score of the HSPT results.
Scholarships
The HSPT also qualifies students for our Benedictine Scholar Awards
- Any incoming freshman who earns a composite score at the 98th or 99th percentile (national percentile) on the High School Placement Test will receive an academic scholarship worth $1,000 for freshmen year.
- Any incoming freshman who earns a composite score at the 95th, 96th, or 97th percentile (national percentile) on the High School Placement Test will receive an academic scholarship worth $500 for freshmen year.
