WHAT IS YOUR BEST MEMORY OF BC?
“While there were many special moments during my four years as a student at BC, one of my best memories was when our senior year football team went 10-0 during the regular season! To our knowledge, and up until that time (since 1902), no other Cadet team had ever achieved that feat! The BUZZ around the team was crazy and the support ran deep among our classmates, families, and the whole BC fan base! It was a special time to be a Benedictine Cadet!”
HOW DID BC PREPARE YOU FOR YOUR FUTURE?
“My four years at BC taught me the power of teamwork and instilled in me the discipline I need to stay the course when things in life get tough.”
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO GIVE TO THE BENEDICTINE FUND?
“It is important to give to the Benedictine Fund so we can support young men being able to learn and experience the same ideals and disciplines that helped form our lives.”
WHAT SETS BC APART FROM THE OTHER SCHOOLS IN SAVANNAH?
“There are a lot of great schools out there so, to be honest, it would be difficult to compare. What I can tell you is when you graduate from Benedictine, you wear a badge that no one else can describe or understand unless they put on the uniform and walked the halls. When I meet someone who graduated from BC for the first time, whether they are younger or older than me, I immediately look at them differently knowing that we share a commonality unlike most! It’s a brotherhood that says, ‘I’m here if you need me!’”
DR. PAUL HINCHEY ’02
WHAT IS YOUR BEST MEMORY OF BC?
“The best experience of Benedictine was not a single memory but instead the memorable friendships and relationships that I cultivated. Many of these connections I still actively maintain to this day. The years I spent at Benedictine were truly a unique adventure. I did not realize how much I missed the Benedictine culture until I returned to Savannah after graduate school seven years ago. Attending the football games with my young son reignited my passion and willingness to see this great school succeed.”
HOW DID BC PREPARE YOU FOR YOUR FUTURE?
“My professional roadmap required a college, dental, and medical degree. I would not have been able to maintain focus during this long and tedious road without strict discipline and determination. Benedictine instilled in me the necessary tools to be successful and I am immensely grateful.”
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO GIVE TO THE BENEDICTINE FUND?
“The purpose of the Benedictine fund is multifactorial. Not only do these funds help maintain the daily infrastructure and maintenance of the school grounds, but they also provide much-needed support for student scholarships. Benedictine desperately requires the generosity of its robust and loyal alumni network to maintain our traditions.”
WHAT SETS BC APART FROM THE OTHER SCHOOLS IN SAVANNAH?
“Benedictine is completely unique regarding its indelible mark on the history and people of Savannah. There is not a day that goes by where I do not discuss Benedictine in some form or fashion with a patient or one of their family members. The camaraderie of its students and alumni network is second to none. One would be hard pressed to find another school that better instills the values of leadership, spirituality, and brotherhood in young men than Benedictine Military School.”
